Jimmy Connors
  • Induction:
    1995
The first freshman ever to win the NCAA singles title (1971), Jimmy Connors turned professional after leading his team to the national championship in his lone season with the Bruins. As a pro, Connors won the U.S. Open singles title five times and Wimbledon twice — among more than 100 career tournament victories — to become one of the sport's all-time greats. He is the only man to win the U.S. Open on three different surfaces (grass, clay, and hardcourt) and was ranked number one in the world for 159 consecutive weeks from July 29, 1974, to August 16, 1977.
