Sue Enquist
  • Induction:
    1993
A former softball star, Sue Enquist is now entrusted with continuing UCLA's rich tradition as coach. Enquist, who sparked the Bruins to their first AIAW national championship as a senior in 1978, hit .401 in her career. Later, she was an All-America for the Raybestos Brakettes and played on the gold medal-winning team in the 1979 Pan American Games. She returned to UCLA in 1980 as an assistant coach for nine seasons, during which time the Bruins won four NCAA titles (1982, 1984, 1985, 1988), and has guided UCLA to four more national titles (1989, 1990, 1992, 1997) since becoming co-head coach in 1989 (she took over sole duties in 1997 when Sharron Backus retired).
