Tim Leary
- Induction:
- 1991
A consensus All-America pitcher for the Bruins in 1979, Tim Leary went on to pitch more than a dozen years in the major leagues. He was taken in the first round of the 1979 baseball draft by the New York Mets. After a serious elbow injury, he had his finest season in 1988, winning 17 games for the Dodgers' World Series champions, and was named comeback player of the year by UPI and The Sporting News. Even while pitching in the majors, Leary continued his education and earned his degree in economics.
