NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Defending NCAA champion UCLA recorded its seventh straight victory and moved into second place in the MPSF Mountain Division race.
The Bruins (10-2, 8-1) defeated Cal State Northridge 15-2, 15-6, 15-3 in 75 minutes before 528 fans by hitting .455, limiting the Matadors (1-8, 1-7) to a .025 hitting percentage and dominating the net by outblocking them 10-7.
The victory was UCLA's 16th straight over CSN, and the Bruins lead the series, 39-2.
Individually, junior All-American Adam Naeve recorded a double-double, spiking 15 kills to go along with 10 digs and four blocks. Sophomore Mark Williams added 13 (.571) kills and senior Danny Farmer contributed 10 (.643).
The Matadors got a team-high eight kills from Junior Mosones and Eckhard Walter.
UCLA will end its six-match road trip this week, traveling to UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 19). They will return home Wed., Feb. 24 to face UC Irvine before a conference showdown with BYU Feb. 26 & 27 in Provo, UT.
