Ann Arbor, MI - UCLA scored its second-highest team total of the season while placing second in a triangular meet at Michigan. Michigan won the meet with a 197.4, followed by the Bruins with a 195.7 and Rutgers with a 189.075.

The Bruins trailed from the beginning of the meet, scoring a 48.875 on bars while the Wolverines totaled 49.575 o nvault. Defending NCAA uneven bars champion Heidi Moneymaker paced UCLA with a second-place 9.9 score.

Michigan increased its lead to over a point after the second rotation, totalling 49.125 on bars to UCLAs 48.8 on beam. The Bruins had a 9.875 by Luisa Portocarrero as their high mark.

The Bruins had strong performances on floor from Mohini Bhardwaj (9.85), Lena Degteva (9.9) and Moneymaker (9.9) but had to count a fall in their team total of 48.775. Michigan, meanwhile, tallied a 49.2 on beam to extend its lead to over 1.5 points.

UCLA ended on a strong note on vault, scoring a 49.25. Lindsey Dong tied her career-high with a 9.675, Valerie Velasco set a new career-high with a 9.75, and Portocarrero (9.825), Kiralee Hayashi (9.85), Degteva (9.9) and Moneymaker (9.925) followed with high marks as well to bring UCLAs final team total to 195.7, a mark which will count in its regional qualifying score.

Moneymaker was UCLAs top all-arounder, scoring a 39.275 to place second to Michigans Lisa Simes (39.45).

The Bruins will next compete in the Pac-10 Championships on Saturday, March 20 in Corvallis, Oregon.
