WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The 1997-98 Pacific-10 Conference Medal winners were announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. A Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership. Following are the 1997-98 awardees:

Arizona: Joe Salave'a, Football/Nancy Evans, Softball

Arizona State: Pat Tillman, Football/Reka Cseresnyes, Tennis

California: Brandon Whiting, Football/Karen Cook, Soccer/Water Polo

Oregon: Jeremy Ensrud, Wrestling/Jennifer Thomas, Track & Field

Oregon State: Ryan Lipe, Baseball/Deanne Droegemueller, Gymnastics

Stanford: Tom Wilkins, Swimming/Kristin Folkl, Basketball/Volleyball

UCLA: Josh Keller, Soccer/Nada Kawar, Track & Field

USC: Jim Wren, Football/Jean Ellis Todisco, Swimming
