LOS ANGELES - LaCresha Flannigan scored 22 points and Marie Philman added 21 on 10-of-11 shooting to lead No. 8 UCLA to a 100-70 victory over Washington State on Saturday.

Philman went 5-for-5 and scored 11 points in the first half as the Bruins took a 45-31 lead. Flannigan scored 13 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half as UCLA stretched its lead to 77-51.

UCLA (17-4, 9-0 Pac-10) won its 10th straight for the first time since 1981.

Yvonne Volkman scored 19 points for Washington State (9-9, 3-6). Tricia Lamb added 15 and Jennifer Kerns scored 13.

Carly Funicello had 16 points for UCLA. Michelle Greco added 13 and Melanie Pearson 11.

Maylana Martin, who has been suffering from migraines since Dec. 30, was sidelined for a second straight game. UCLA coach Kathy Olivier said Martin will be given medication and is expected to resume practice Monday.

Meanwhile, the Cougars announced that Alke Dietel has undergone surgery to repair torn ligament and cartilage in her right knee and will miss the rest of the season. Dietel, the Pac-10's freshman of the year in 1997-98, has missed the Cougars' last four games.
