Juniors Seilala Sua and Heidi Moneymaker were named UCLA's female All-University Athletes for the 1998-99 school year.

Sua, who led the Bruin track and field team to a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships in June, became only the fourth woman in NCAA history to win both the shot put and discus (her third consecutive) titles at the outdoor championships. Later in June, Sua also won the discus at the USA Championships. The Pac-10 Track and Field Athlete of the Year won the shot put, discus and javelin at the conference championships.

Moneymaker, who captained UCLA to its eighth Pac-10 gymnastics title, became the first UCLA gymnast to earn first-team All-America honors on every event and the all-around at an NCAA Championship. Moneymaker also won her second NCAA individual title by capturing the vault crown. She also won the all-around and vault at the Pac-10 Championships and was the all-around champion and Gymnast of the Year at the Region 1 Championships.

Amanda Freed, a first-team All-American who helped UCLA win its eighth NCAA championship in softball, and Kristee Porter, the Pac-10 Volleyball Freshman of the Year and a member of the basketball and track and field teams, were co-winners of the Freshman of the Year award.

Track and field All-American Erin Blunt was selected the Senior Scholarship winner. She has compiled a 3.6 grade point average while majoring in Communication Studies.

On May 1 at UCLA's 25th Anniversary Celebration for Women's Athletics, the team MVPs for each sport were named. They are:

	Golf - Amanda Moltke-Leth
	Gymnastics - Heidi Moneymaker
	Soccer - Skylar Little
	Softball - Stacey Nuveman
	Swimming and Diving - Keiko Price
	Tennis - Brandi Freudenberg
	Track and Field - Seilala Sua
	Volleyball - Michelle Quon
	Water Polo - Erin Golaboski
