UCLA Rallies To Defeat British Columbia, 3-2

ALBERTA, Canada - Making their second appearance at the 3rd Annual Molson Canadian Can-Am Challenge, the Bruins defeated the British Columbia Thunderbirds, 3-2 (15-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-20.)
After British Columbia won the first two games, UCLA came back to win the final three games. In game three, the Bruins posted a match-high hitting percentage of .460, and outhit the Thunderbirds in games four and five. Sophomore outside hitter Matt Komer led UCLA with 14 kills and an attack percentage of .320, and junior quick hitter Seth Champi added 10 kills at a .570 clip.
In accordance with the tournament scoring rules, rally-scoring is used and the first team to 25 points wins. Five games are played in each match and a team is awarded one point for each game won. The team which has accumulated the most points wins the tournament.
The Bruins' second match is against the University of Calgary on Friday evening and against the University of Alberta in the last match of the tournament on Saturday evening. UCLA has won three points in tournament scoring.
