UCLA Sweeps Hawaii in Men's Volleyball

LOS ANGELES - Fifth-ranked UCLA won its sixth straight match Friday, sweeping seventh-ranked Hawaii before 1736 in Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruins, 17-6 overall and 11-5 in MPSF play, won 15-12, 15-8, 15-11 in one hour and 52 minutes.

Junior Adam Naeve (.345) and sophomore Mark Williams (.364) led the Bruins with 13 kills apiece and senior Danny Farmer (.417) added 12 kills. Naeve, who recorded 10 digs, led all players with eight block assists and junior Brandon Taliaferro added six.

The Bruins outblocked the Rainbows 12.5-11.5, outhit them .335-.235 and served nine aces their six.

The Rainbows' Clay Stanley spiked 19 kills, followed by Andre Breuers 14.

Hawaii fell to 15-7 overall and 8-6 in league play.

The Bruins return home April 16 to host Stanford in the 22nd Annual Kilgour Cup after traveling to Pepperdine Apr. 8 and Loyola Marymount Apr. 9.
