UCLA Women's Soccer Tops Cal State Fullerton 4-1

UCLA's Venus James scored in the 57th minute to break a 1-1 tie and the Bruins went on to beat Cal State Fullerton, 4-1, in the season opener of women's soccer for both teams.
James scored on a breakaway on a pass from senior Skylar Little, beating Titan goalkeeper Blythe Curran who had to come out of the net. The Bruins put the match away in the 70th minute on goals by Tracey Milburn and Jessica Winton.
Fullerton had taken a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute when Kim Gallo knocked in a rebound off goalkeeper CiCi Peterson. The Titans got only one other shot. UCLA tied the match in the 28th minute with sophomore Breana Boling's goal.
Fullerton's Curran made seven saves, while UCLA's Peterson recorded one.
