- Ray Young came off the bench to score 22 points and UCLA overcame an 11-point second-half deficit to beat Oregon State 85-74 Thursday night.

The Bruins (12-5, 3-3 Pac-10) used a 31-5 run midway through the second half to take control of the game and earn their second straight win.

Young, who was averaging 6.6 points per game, was 8-for-11 from the field, including 5-for-6 from 3-point range. He also had six assists and a blocked shot.

Oregon State (10-7, 2-4) got 17 points from Deaundra Tanner, but remained winless at home in conference play.

OSU led 37-33 at halftime and built its lead to 56-45 on two free throws by Brian Jackson with 11:00 to play. But the Bruins outscored the Beavers by 26 points over the next 7:37, catching Oregon State at 58-58 on a jumper by Young with 8:04 to go. UCLA then went on an 18-3 run, capped by Earl Watson's basket that made it 76-61 with 3:23 to go.

During that stretch, center Dan Gadzuric had nine points for UCLA and forward Jason Kapono had eight points. The Bruins shot 58.6 percent (17-for-29) from the field in the second half, while limiting Oregon State to 32.3 percent (10-for-31).
