UCLA recorded a season-high team total in defeating Pac-10 Conference rival Arizona State by a score of 196.65-191.575. Junior Mohini Bhardwaj and seniors Heidi Moneymaker and Lena Degteva, who swept the all-around standings and between them won all four event titles, led the Bruins.

Moneymaker and Bhardwaj shared the all-around crown with a score of 39.5. The score represented a new career-high for Bhardwaj, and the all-around title was the junior's third consecutive. Degteva won the vault with a score of 9.85 and recorded a career-high tying 9.925 on bars to tie for first with Moneymaker. Bhardwaj won the beam with a 9.9 and the floor with a 9.925.

UCLA swept the top five spots on the vault. Onnie Willis, Moneymaker, Bhardwaj and Kristin Parker followed Degteva's No. 1 placement. Parker's fourth-place score of 9.775 was a new career-high. The Bruins continued their momentum on bars, sweeping the first four spots. Bhardwaj placed third behind Degteva and Moneymaker with a 9.9, while Doni Thompson set a new collegiate-best with a 9.85 to place fourth.

Arizona State broke UCLA's bid to sweep the top three placings on all events when Lea Carver scored a 9.825 on beam to place third behind Bhardwaj and Moneymaker. ASU's Cassidy Vreeke tied with Degteva and Thompson for fourth place with a 9.775. But on floor, it was all UCLA, as Bhardwaj, Moneymaker, Degteva, Willis (career-high tying 9.85) and Malia Jones (career-high 9.8) took the top five placings.

The Bruins as a team scored season-bests on floor (49.35) and bars (49.25). Their final team score of 196.65 and their floor score rank as the seventh-highest in school history in those categories.

The fifth-ranked Bruins became the first team this season to defeat 11th-ranked Arizona State this season. The Sun Devils' record drops to 6-1, while the Bruins, winners of three straight meets, move up to 6-4. UCLA will next host Stanford at Pauley Pavilion on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 2:00 pm.
