LOS ANGELES (AP) - UCLA coach Kathy Olivier hoped to inspire her team with a technical foul. Instead, it had just the opposite effect.
Shaquala Williams hit the ensuing two free throws to break a tie with 2:49 remaining and Oregon scored the next five points en route to a 67-58 win over No. 10 UCLA on Saturday.
The defeat ended a seven-game Bruin winning streak.
Olivier was penalized for protesting a lane violation call.
"The technical was bad," Olivier said. "Obviously, it was a key time in the game and Oregon took advantage of it. I think I ended up sparking them instead of sparking us."
A similar call had gone against UCLA earlier in the half. Maylana Martin was called both times for stepping across the free-throw line after her foul shots, hoping to get an advantage on a rebound.
After scoring just five points in the first half, and missing six of eight shots, including all five 3-point attempts, Williams scored 10 of her game-high 22 points in the final 2:49.
"The rim was so unkind today," said Williams, who made 5 of 19 shots, but 10 of 13 free throws. "My shots kept going in and out. My teammates and coaches just told me to keep attacking and stay aggressive and that's what I did."
Williams followed her two free throws - which put the Ducks ahead for good - by making a jump shot and one of two free throws. Alyssa Fredrick then completed the 7-0 run with a lay-up.
Martin's jump shot with 1:15 left cut Oregon's lead to 59-54, but Williams hit five consecutive free throws to clinch the victory.
Jamie Craighead scored nine of her 11 points in the first half as the Ducks (14-5, 5-2 Pacific-10) rebounded from Thursday's 74-73 last-second loss at Southern California.
Fredrick and Angelina Wolvert added 10 apiece for the Ducks.
"At the end of the game, a lot of people stepped up and made free throws: Brianne (Meharry), Alyssa and Jamie," Williams said. "It was a real team effort. No one person did it all."
Oregon made 21 of 27 free throws, while the Bruins made three of five.
"We didn't get to the free throw line which meant we weren't aggressive," Olivier said.
Michelle Greco had 14 points off the bench for UCLA (12-5, 6-1). Martin had 11 points and Janae Hubbard added 10.
"It was a difficult game just because we weren't hitting our outside shots," Olivier said.
