POWAY, Calif. - UCLA pitcher Amanda Freed improved to 7-0 on the season, giving up just one hit in three innings of work Friday as the No. 1 ranked UCLA softball team downed Pacific 9-3 at the Campbell/Cartier Softball Classic hosted by San Diego State University.

Freshman center fielder Natasha Watley went 3-for-3, including a home run as UCLA improved to 12-2 on the season.

Later that evening, UCLA dropped a 6-4 decision to No. 6 Michigan.
