Bloomington, IN - In its second game at the 2000 Collegiate Championships, the No. 2 seed UCLA women's water polo team continued to dominate opponents Friday, handing UC Davis a 15-2 loss at the University of Indiana's Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center.
The Bruins launched out to an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter and the Aggies were unable to catch up, managing only one goal each in the second and fourth quarters.
Ten different players notched points for UCLA, with the freshman trio of Maureen Flanagan, Ashley Stachowski and Devon McIntyre and the senior duo of Catharine von Schwarz and Erin Golaboski pacing the team with two goals apiece.
Day Two of the Collegiate Championships begins Saturday at 8:30 am. All games will be held in Indianapolis at the IU Natatorium. UCLA will take on No. 3 seed California at 4 pm. The three-day tournament concludes on Sunday, May 7, with the Championship match beginning at 3:30 pm.
