Women's Tennis Heads To Pac-10 Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The sixth-ranked UCLA women's tennis team won its second match in three days Friday, cruising to a 6-1 win over Cal State Northridge at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins opened their dual-match season Wednesday, downing No. 23 Fresno State 7-1.

Both Amanda Basica and Sara Walker cruised to identical 6-1, 6-0 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. They also teamed at No. 2 doubles, winning 8-2.

Northridge gained their only point of the afternoon at No. 6 singles where Kristina Mohos knocked off UCLA's Michelle Stiefel 6-3, 0-6, 7-6(10-7). ?UCLA won the other five singles matches in straight sets.

The Bruins return to action next weekend when they open Pac-10 Conference play against No. 31 Arizona on Friday and No. 12 Arizona State on Saturday.
