WESTWOOD, Calif. -- Despite playing without its top singles player, the ninth-ranked UCLA women's tennis team managed a 6-3 victory over visiting Arizona at the Los Angeles Tennis Center Saturday.

UCLA was without the services of freshman Sara Walker, who has missed the last two matches while back in El Paso, Tex., dealing with a family matter. She is ranked No. 18 in the latest ITA singles rankings.

Saturday's win avenged an early season loss to the Wildcats as the Bruins fell to Arizona 5-4 back on Jan. 28 in Tucson.

With the win, UCLA improves to 9-4 on the season, while Arizona drops to 6-7.

The Bruins return to action this Tuesday, Mar. 14 as they travel to Malibu for a dual match against No. 10 Pepperdine. UCLA's next home match is on Friday, Mar. 17 against Illinois at the Los Angeles Tennis Center beginning at 1:30 p.m.
