
Women's Water Polo Cruises Past San Jose State, 14-6

LOS ANGELES - In an MPSF conference matchup, the third-ranked UCLA Bruins defeated No. 5 San Jose State 14-6 in women's water polo Monday at UCLA's Sunset Canyon Recreation Center.
UCLA led the entire game, with sophomore transfer Kelly Heuchan sparking the Bruin offense with four goals. Seven other Bruins recorded points for UCLA, including Ashley Stachowski, Catharine von Schwarz and Elaine Zivich, who each recorded two goals.
The Spartans were led in scoring by sophomore Inna Fedoseyeva, who recorded three goals. Liz Garcia, Sara Hunt and Julie Schmidt also added points for San Jose State.
With the win, UCLA's record improves to 18-3 overall and 6-1 in MPSF action. The Spartans fall to 14-10 overall and 2-4 in the MPSF. This is the second time both teams have met this season, with UCLA handing San Jose State a 12-2 loss at the UC San Diego Tournament on February 11.
The Bruins return to action this Friday when they host the top-ranked California Bears at 3 pm at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center.
