
Men's Volleyball Falls In Five To Long Beach State

LOS ANGELES - The fourth-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team lost in five games to No.1 Long Beach State Wednesday night at the Pyramid.
Long Beach State won 8-15, 15-3, 8-15, 15-12, 15-9 to raise its record to 23-3, 16-2.
The Bruins (23-5, 13-5) were led by senior Ed Ratledge's 20 kills. Junior Mark Williams and sophomore Matt Komer each added 18 kills. Freshman Scott Morrow led the Bruins with eight block assists.
The loss overshadowed a pair of record-breaking performances by UCLA seniors Brandon Taliaferro and Matt Davis. Taliaferro's 13 digs raised his career total to 787, surpassing Fred Robins for the all-time career digs record. Davis' eight digs raised his season total to 316, a new UCLA single season record.
Junior David McKienzie led The Beach with 29 kills and 17 digs.
