  • Ryan Hamill (2000) of Johnson City (A, Cardinals) was 3-for-5 with two homers, three RBI and two runs scored in Johnson City's 10-inning 9-7 loss to Elizabethton.
  • Troy Glaus (1995-97) of the Anaheim Angels belted his 26th homer of the season and collected his 22nd double of the season, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in the Angels' 4-3 (10 innings) loss to the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

She finished the weekend with 21 strikeouts and one walk in nine innings pitched. Shortly after receiving the honors, she earned a 2-1 victory over the Florida Wahoos, pitching nine solid innings, striking out six and allowing six hits.

  • Garrett Atkins (1998-00) of Portland (A, Rockies) hit his fifth homer of the season in Portland's 11-4 loss to Boise, placing him in a tie for second for the league lead in homers. He is also in a tie for 10th on the Portland Rockies' all-time single-season home run list.

  • Garrett Atkins (1998-00) of Portland (A, Rockies) broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth inning with a towering shot over the 407 foot sign to dead center as Portland held on to defeat Everett 2-1. Atkins, who started at third base, finished the game 2-for-4, hitting his fourth homer of the season.
  • Nick Theodorou (1995-98) of San Antonio (AA, Dodgers) started at third base and was 3-for-4 with two doubles as Midland defeated San Antonio 4-3.
  • David Roberts (1991-94) of Buffalo (AAA, Indians) was 2-for-3 with three RBI, a run scored, a double and a walk, helping lead Buffalo to a 10-7 victory over Rochester in game one of a doubleheader. In game two, Roberts singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Buffalo defeated Rochester 1-0.
  • Michael Moore (1990-92) of Greenville (AA, Braves), who just recently signed with the Braves, homered for the second day in a row and also doubled, going 2-for-4, as Greenville defeated Jacksonville 7-2.
  • Scott Seal (1994-95) of Salem (A, Rockies) helped lead Salem to a 7-2 victory over Kinston by going 2-4 with a double and three runs scored.

  • Nicolle Payne (1995-1998) made 13 saves to help the USA National Team win the Holiday Cup title with a 5-4 victory over Canada in the finals. Payne was selected the tournament's Most Valuable Goalkeeper, while UCLA senior Coralie Simmons was named the Most Valuable Offensive Player.

    Beach Volleyball

  • Holly McPeak (1990) and partner Misty May won their second beach volleyball title in six days, capturing the BVA Seal Beach Open title. McPeak/May defeated Lisa Arce/Barbara Fontana, 15-4. Jenny Johnson Jordan (1992-1995)/Annett (Buckner) Davis (1991-1994) finished in third place, while Linda (Robertson) Hanley (1978-1981)/Karrie Poppinga placed fifth.

  • At the Golden Gala 2000 in Rome, Ato Boldon (1995-1996) tied for second in the 100m with a time of 10.00. Gail Devers (1985-1988) recorded her third fastest time ever in the women's 100m hurdles with a winning time of 12.47 seconds. John Godina (1992-1995) placed third in the shot put with a throw of 20.78.
