UCLA Men, Women Place Third At Aztec Cross Country Invitational

San Diego, Calif. - The UCLA men's and women's cross country teams placed third overall at the Aztec Cross Country Invitational.
Christina Bowen won her second consecutive collegiate race to lead the Bruin women to a third-place total of 71 points. Texas A&M won the meet with 39 points, followed by UC Irvine with 67 points. Bowen placed second overall with a time of 17:53, just eight seconds behind Alisa Rodgers, who ran unattached. Katie Nuanes was 11th overall and 10th collegiately with a time of 18:33. Valerie Flores was 14th overall (18:45), Gina Donnelly 27th (19:04) and Kelly Grimes 30th (19:08) to complete the scoring for the Bruins.
The Bruin men, who totaled 99 points to finish behind the Cal Coast Track Club (50) and Chico State (84), were led by Bryan Green, who placed third in the collegiate race and fourth overall with a time of 26:04. Also placing in the Top 20 were Scott Abbott (15th overall, 13th collegiately, 26:29) and Paul Muite (20th overall, 18th collegiately, 26:54). Mason Moore (34th overall, 32nd collegiately) and Jon Rankin (35th overall, 33rd collegiately) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins.
