Box Score

Los Angeles, CA - The top-ranked UCLA gymnastics team won its 10th consecutive and 15th overall UCLA Invitational, recording a team score of 196.85. Washington finished second with a 194.675, followed closely by Cal State Fullerton (194.575) and Arizona (194.4).

UCLA sophomore Onnie Willis (Tacoma, WA) won the all-around with a meet-record and career-high 39.6. She recorded first-place scores of 9.95 on vault and floor and also tied her career-high on beam with a 9.85.

U.S. Olympian and UCLA freshman Jamie Dantzscher (San Dimas, CA) added yet another perfect score to her collection, recording her second career 10 on bars and her fourth 10 overall. Dantzscher, who is now tied for the UCLA career record for most perfect 10s, placed second in her all-around debut with a 39.55 and recorded career highs on vault (9.825, third place) and bars (10, a new UCLA Invitational record). She tied with Willis for first place on floor with a 9.95, which also ties the meet record.

Arizona's Kara Fry won the balance beam with a career-high tying 9.9 and tied with teammate Randi Liljenquist for third in the all-around with 39.2.

Other highlights for UCLA included freshman Jeanette Antolin's (Huntington Beach, CA) career-high 9.85 on beam (second place), and the home debut of freshman Alyssa Beckerman (Middletown, NJ), who wowed the crowd with a 9.8 on beam and with her rendition of the national anthem prior to the meet.

Jeanette Antolin - Yurchenko layout full, a little too close to the horse, not enough distance, but very clean (9.725)
Yvonne Tousek - Yurchenko half front layout, lacked a bit of amplitude, but otherwise, a very tight, clean vault, good landing (9.775)
Kristin Parker - Handspring front layout with a half twist! New vault for her! good effort at making one of the most difficult vaults being done in the nation (9.725)
Jamie Dantzscher - Layout Phelps, very powerful, good distance, good amplitude, just took a step on the landing (9.825)
Kristen Maloney - Yurchenko layout 1.5, a little too close to the horse, bent her knees a little, had to take a big step on the landing (9.775)
Onnie Willis - Yurchenko half front layout, beautiful vault, great height, tiny step on the landing will be what will cost her a 10 (9.95)

Jeanette Antolin - Really nice and extended inverted giants into a clean piked jaeger. Very difficult double front half dismount out of inverted giants. Overall, a very clean routine. (9.825)
Onnie Willis - Good amplitude on her tkachev, a lot of pirouette work. Good double front half dismount but took a small hop on the landing. (9.85)
Doni Thompson - Added a geinger to her routine this week. Again, one of the most beautiful tkachevs, going towards the low bar. Full-out dismount with a teeny step on the landing. As always, her routine is always performed with a lot of power. (9.9)
Kristin Parker - Had a great routine going but came a little short on her double front dismount and took a bunch of steps. After a good fight, she sat down. (9.375)
Jamie Dantzscher - Very fluid pace in her routine. Does unusual release moves. Everything is very extended. One of the most difficult dismounts to stick, and she does it every time. Should score a 10 and does! (10)
Yvonne Tousek - A little break on her mount and had to take a swing but recovered well with a beautiful Hindorff and Pak salto. (9.625)
Exhibition - Valerie Velasco - Added a more difficult dismount to her routine. Overall, her routine was very clean, and she finished with a good landing on her double front half (9.775)

Jeanette Antolin - Clean bh/lo with a slight balance check. Nice clean jumps. Keeping a nice pace. Very confident. Roundoff double pike, good landing! (9.85)
Jamie Dantzscher - Looks pretty comfortable up there. Nice combination of 180 wolf jump to another wolf jump. Front tuck into immediate wolf jump. 2 BH to 1.5 twist dismount with a step back on the landing. (9.775)
Onnie Willis - Beautiful front pike mount. She has so much power that she has to hop out of it. Difficult combo of switch split into switch split straddle. Very nice front somi into a jump. 2 bh, double back dismount. Very nice, just took a step on the landing. Clean routine. This was her first time doing beam this year, and she handled it very well. (9.85)
Doni Thompson - Clean bh/bh/lo. Saved her jump combination. Small step out of her swing-through front layout half dismount. (9.725)
Alyssa Beckerman - Very pretty to watch on beam. Everything she does is very flowy, and she's very flexible. Nice combo of two front a aerials into a bh. Cartwheel gainer full dismount. Good clean landing. (9.8)
Kristen Maloney - Kristen looks very solid on the beam. She has this confidence of knowing she's going to be on before she does the skill. Nice full-twisting fish flop. A very rare skill being done in college. 2 BH, double back. Small hop on landing. Overall a solid routine. (9.8)

Valerie Velasco - Very nice double pike with a good landing. Good double tuck second pass. Has added difficulty to her routine this year. Very nice job! (9.8)
Doni Thompson - Interesting mount - 2.5 to flyspring stepout. Difficult tumbling series for her second pass and had to put her knees down. Good front full into immediate front tuck dismount. (9.35)
Yvonne Tousek - She's a very natural twister and has long lines. Nice triple twist. Very original and unique choreography. Very good decision to change her ending pose to avoid stepping out of bounds. (9.925)
Jamie Dantzscher - Very powerful double layout. Sky-high double tuck dismount. Probably the most powerful routine you could possibly see. Very clean. (9.95)
Onnie Willis - Great tumbling, great smile, working the crowd and really gets the crowd into the routine. Her score is already eliciting a few boos from the crowd who screamed for a 10. (9.95)
Kristin Parker - A lot of power on her double pike first pass, took a step. Easily stuck her Arabian double front. Extremely difficult to do as her second tumbling pass. Would probably have been a 10 if she had stuck her landing on her first pass. Great routine (9.9)
