
Bruins Defeat Matadors in Men's Volleyball

Defending NCAA men's volleyball champion UCLA defeated Cal State Northridge 3-1 Saturday morning in its second match of the Wyndham Garden Hotels West Coast Challenge.
The Bruins (1-2) won 30-23, 29-31, 30-23, 30-24 before 175 spectators in one hour and 40 minutes. The Matadors fell to 2-1 overall.
Senior Adam Naeve led UCLA with 12 kills, followed by Mark Williams who added 10 kills. Sophomore Scott Morrow recorded a career high of 13 total blocks. Senior backup setter Dan Conners recorded a career high of 35 set assists, served four aces and blocked eight balls.
The Bruins out-blocked the Matadors, 20-10 and served 14 aces to their opponent's nine.
The Bruins will play UC Irvine at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the final match of the tournament.
