LOS ANGELES - On Saturday, November 10, the UCLA football team hosted over 10,000 students at the Rose Bowl as a part of the UCLA's "I'm Going to College" program. Children from all over Southern California arrived at the Rose Bowl hours before the game to enjoy a fun-filled day of activities, including a student-athlete autograph session with many of the Bruin baseball team, athletic squads, academic overviews with admissions counselors, face-painting and visits by the UCLA cheerleaders, dance team members and mascots, Joe and Josephine Bruin. After enjoying activities in the FoodZone, students entered the Rose Bowl to cheer on the Bruins for a highly anticipated match-up versus the Oregon Ducks.

UCLA Athletics offers the "I'm Going to College" program at various athletic events throughout the year. Operating through Southern California school systems, the program touches thousands of students each year and offers them a glimpse of college life and the excitement of Division I NCAA Athletics. Debra Schneider, the "I'm Going to College" coordinator, and her staff work hard to make sure that this program is successful year in and year out. "It is a great opportunity for these children to get a chance to learn about the wonderful things that college has to offer, both academically and athletically. I hope that the students enjoyed their time at UCLA and look forward to having these children, and many others, back for future events."

January 13, 2002 - Women's Basketball vs. USC
March 19, 2002 - Men's Volleyball vs. Stanford
May 4, 2002 - Men's and Women's Track & Field vs. USC
