Bruins Upset by No. 9 Pepperdine, 5-2

Malibu, Calif. - In a rain-delayed match not completed until 8:45 p.m. on Saturday evening, No. 9 Pepperdine upset No. 6 UCLA, 5-2 at the Ralphs-Strauss Tennis Stadium at Pepperdine University. With the loss, UCLA falls to 3-1 on the season.

One bright spot on the afternoon for UCLA came at No. 1 doubles where the Bruin tandem of Lauren Fisher and Petya Marinova upset the nation's second-ranked doubles team of Paola Palencia/Ipek Senoglu, 8-4.

Sara Walker and Mariko Fritz-Krockow won both of their singles matches to account for UCLA's two points on the day.

The Bruins return to action this week as they travel to the National Team Indoors in Madison, Wisc., Feb. 15-18.
