
#2 Women's Water Polo Wins Big In First Day Of UCSB Tournament

The #2 UCLA Bruins (5-1 overall, 1-0 MPSF) cruised past competition in the first two rounds of the UCSB Tournament on Saturday, defeating UC Irvine, 16-3, and #8 UC Santa Barbara, 12-2. Freshman Natalie Golda added to her team lead with eight goals in the first two games, including five against UC Irvine and a hat trick againt UC Santa Barbara.
The Bruins continue to get scoring from everyone, as 10 different players hit the back of the net in the first two games.
UCLA will face #4 California in the semifinals on Sunday, with the winner moving on to the championship game Sunday afternoon. The loser will play for third-place in the tournament. The other semifinal game matches #1 Stanford versus #3 USC. The Bruins are 1-0 against California this year, defeating them 6-4 in the Stanford Invitational. The Bruins faced Stanford in the championship game of the Stanford Invitational, losing 7-6 in the closing seconds. UCLA has yet to meet cross-town rival USC this season.
