
Bruins Lose in Three at Stanford

The UCLA men's volleyball team dropped a three-game match at Stanford Friday night at Maples Pavilion.
Stanford (14-8, 10-7) won 30-28, 30-28, 30-24 in front of 1,218 fans in 85 minutes.
The loss dropped the Bruins to 19-7 overall and 11-5 in MPSF action. In the MPSF playoff picture, the best the Bruins can hope for is the No.3 seed provided they finish the season with a victory at Pacific Saturday night.
UCLA is guaranteed the home court advantage for the first round of the MPSF playoffs which begin Apr. 21.
The Cardinal recorded its second victory of the season over the Bruins by limiting UCLA to a hitting percentage of .255. Stanford hit .344, led by All-American Curt Toppel's 18 kills.
Junior Ian Burnham led the Bruins with nine kills.
The Bruins out-blocked the Cardinal 10-7 and served six aces to Stanford's four.
UCLA travels to Pacific for a 7 p.m. match Saturday night.
