Williamsburg, Va. - The No. 2 UCLA Bruins scored one goal in each half to defeat No. 22 William & Mary, 2-0, on a windy and chilly Sunday afternoon at Barksdale Field.

With the victory, UCLA improves to 7-0, while William & Mary drops to 6-2-1

UCLA scored the day's first goal when senior Mary-Frances Monroe netted her sixth goal of the season on a free kick after a Tribe player committed a foul above the penalty area at 37:22. William & Mary also had its chances during the first half when sophomore Lindsey Vanderspiegel (Chesapeake, Va.) attempted free kick sailed over the UCLA net.

With the score 1-0, the Bruins clinched the match when senior Breana Boling tallied her first goal of the season at 58:27 receiving a crossing pass from senior teammate Stephanie Rigamat.

Tribe goalie Courtney Owen (Richmond, Va.) made four saves, while UCLA goaltender CiCi Peterson made two. UCLA outshot William & Mary by an 11-4 margin.

UCLA returns home this week to host the UCLA Women's Cup on Friday and Sunday. The Bruins will host Loyola Marymount on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Princeton on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
