LOS ANGELES - On Sunday, March 10, members of the UCLA Football team hosted 30 children and their families from FACT, Focus on All-Child Therapies. The young fans met several Bruin players at Spaulding Field for an exciting afternoon of fun, football drills and instruction. Student-athletes joked and played with the kids while leading them through running plays, a football toss, quick step hurdles, field goal kicking, and even the fundamentals of tackling. The day even included an opportunity to try-on Bruin football apparel, including players' helmets, jerseys, and shoulder pads. After two hours of activity, the Bruin team members closed out the day with a few autograph session and taught the Bruin 8-clap.

FACT, a non-profit organization, is a group that focuses on community relations for families of children with autism. In June of 2001, FACT took over UCLA's Family Support Program and has worked to create and sponsor community programs and camps on campus.

Working with the children from FACT was a wonderful experience for the UCLA football team. Members from both groups benefited and learned from their fun-filled day together. The Bruins will certainly look forward to future events.
