Fred Winters led the Pepperdine Waves to a 3-0 sweep of UCLA in the finale of the Wyndham West Coast Challenge. The match was close the entire way, with the Waves having the advantage in service aces (8-1) and hitting percentage (.398-.366) at the end of the evening.
Sean Rooney added 12 kills and Brad Keenan recorded 10 kills and five block assists for the Waves. Beau Daniels tallied a match-high 47 set assists and Clint Olson led the team in digs with five.
The Bruins were led by Chris Pena with 11 kills and Scott Morrow with 10 kills. Rich Nelson recorded 43 set assists, while Adam Shrader had a match-high seven digs. Pepperdine, UCLA and UC Irvine all go 2-1 at the Challenege.
