The top-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team edged UC Irvine, 3-2, Friday night for its seventh straight victory and 21st overall.

The Bruins (21-3, 14-2) won 30-20, 30-22, 29-31, 28-30, 15-11 in two hours and five minutes before 497 fans in Pauley Pavilion.

The Anteaters fell to 11-12 overall and 5-11 in league play. They have lost six straight to the Bruins and trail in the series, 41-1.

Senior Matt Komer led the Bruins with a season-high of 21 kills, including six in Game 5, as the Bruins hit .611 in the final game. Junior Cameron Mount and freshman Jonathan Acosta each added 15 kills. Mount aced the Anteaters three times, and Acosta added nine digs. Sophomore Adam Shrader led both teams with 19 digs.

Four Anteaters recorded double-digit kills, led by Erick Helinihi's 24. Jimmy Pelzel added 15 kills, followed by Jarrett Jensen's 14 and 11 from Spencer Bemus. Libero Monte Tucker led UCI with 13 digs, followed by 11 from Pelzel.

UCLA's next home match is Sat., Mar. 16 at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion against George Mason University.
