Los Angeles - The seventh-seeded UCLA women's tennis team had little trouble with Southern University on Friday, winning 4-0 in an NCAA First Round match at UCLA's Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins will now advance to take on Washington in the second round on Saturday. The Huskies registered a 4-0 decision over Loyola Marymount earlier in the day. Saturday's match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., with the winner advancing to the Round of 16 in Stanford, Calif., May 16-19.

The Bruins cruised through doubles play without losing a game, taking 8-0 decisions on the top two courts. In singles, UCLA (17-4) received singles victories from Sara Walker, Sarah Gregg and Catherine Hawley.

With the loss, Southern finishes its season at 15-17 overall.
