On Saturday, April 19, 2003, over 1100 fans turned out for ASA Softball Day, to watch the Bruins down the Washington Huskies 10-0. Hundreds of young softball players and teams packed the stands to watch an exciting UCLA Softball Pac-10 matchup.

The game was topped off by a special presentation at the start of the game, in which the Southern California ASA Commissioner Steve Monson, presented softball alum, Stacey Nuveman with the ASA Collegiate Player of the Year for the 2002 season. Monson also threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Saturday, marked the first of two dates in which ASA softball teams from around the greater Los Angeles area are invited to come watch an exciting day of UCLA Softball.

The Amateur Softball Association, is a nationwide softball league for all ages.
