Art Venegas' UCLA men's track & field team on Saturday hosted the UCLA Invitational at Drake Stadium. It was UCLA's final home meet of the 2003 outdoor collegiate season.

The Bruin men were led by sophomore Yoo Kim (Rangoon, Burma/Deerfield Academy, MA) and freshman Ryan Hollins (Pasadena/Muir). Kim won the pole vault (18-0.50, a personal-best and the fifth Bruin in history to vault over 18-feet. Hollins, the starting center on the Bruin men's basketball team, won the high jump (7-0.25, personal-best, NRQ).

Bruin great Josh Johnson, son of UCLA legend Rafer Johnson, won the javelin (217-8) and Octavius Gillespie, who was a Bruin senior in 2002, won the long jump (22-3.50).
