Stanford, CA - In its first of two meets in a span of three days, the third-ranked gymnastics team tied No. 8 Stanford on the road, scoring 197.45. The Bruins saved their best for last, scoring a 49.575 on beam in the final rotation to catch the Cardinal, which scored 49.225 on floor. UCLA counted four scores of 9.9 or higher in the final rotation.

The teams were neck and neck throughout the competition. In the first rotation, both teams posted scores of 49.35, as Stanford used a 9.925 from Natalie Foley to lead the vault team, while Jamie Dantzscher's second perfect 10 of the season on bars led UCLA.

Stanford took a slight lead after rotation two, scoring 49.525 on bars to UCLA's 49.375 on vault. Junior Jeanette Antolin scored the first perfect 10 of her career to pace the Bruins. Other highlights included a 9.925 from Onnie Willis, a 9.9 from Kristin Parker, and a 9.675 from Trishna Patel on a vault valued at a 9.8.

In rotation three, Stanford increased its lead with a 49.35 on beam to the Bruins' 49.15 on floor. Willis' 9.925 and Kate Richardson's 9.9 led UCLA, while Lindsay Wing's 9.95 on beam led the Cardinal.

Faced with a deficit of 0.35 points, UCLA took to the balance beam undaunted. After leadoff performer Parker posted a 9.65, redshirt freshman Christie Tedmon came up and nailed her routine for a career-high 9.9. Alyssa Beckerman followed with a 9.85, then Malia Jones and Kate Richardson produced back-to-back 9.95s, with Jones' score being a career-high for her. Yvonne Tousek left little room for Stanford to claim the lead, recording a 9.925 for UCLA's final score. The Cardinal's final performer on floor, Lise Leveille, came up just short for Stanford, scoring a 9.9 to give the two teams the tie.

Foley won the all-around with a score of 39.725. Richardson was second with a 39.625, her fourth consecutive 39.5+ score.

UCLA returns home on Sunday to face 13th-ranked Washington at 2:00 pm in Pauley Pavilion.
