
Bruins Halt Slide with Victory over Trojans

The UCLA men's volleyball team halted its three-match slide with its seventh consecutive victory over USC Wednesday at the Lyon Center.
The Bruins won 30-28, 30-26, 27-30, 30-26. The victory raised their record to 14-12 overall, 9-10 in league play. USC fell to 6-22, 2-17.
Junior Marcin Jagoda, playing in his first match since injuring his ankle during the first week of the season, led the Bruins with a career-high of 21 kills (.421). Sophomore Jonathan Acosta added 20 kills and hit .350. Junior Chris Pena recorded 11 kills and eight total blocks.
In team statistics, the two teams tied with 13 blocks apiece, but the Bruins held the Trojans to a .198 attack percentage and hit .308 themselves. UCLA also added six aces.
The Bruins will meet top-ranked Pepperdine Saturday night for a 7 p.m. showdown at Firestone Fieldhouse.
