Ojai, CA - Four UCLA singles players and one doubles team competed in the backdraw at the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai on Saturday. Anya Loncaric and Kate Jolson were singles winners, while the doubles team of Loncaric and Shilpa Joshi claimed a victory as well.
In doubles, Joshi and Loncaric beat Joanna Kao and Jessica Leck of Stanford, 8-6. Loncaric's singles win was also over Leck, 6-0, 6-1. Jolson defeated Kathy Chi of Washington, 6-2, 6-3.
Laura Gordon and Shilpa Joshi also competed in the backdraw, but were defeated. Joshi lost to Cindy Sureephong of Arizona State, 6-3, 6-4, and Gordon lost to Chris Martinez of Washington State, 6-3, 7-6.
