LOS ANGELES - In its home opener Wednesday evening at Spaulding Field, the second-ranked UCLA women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with UC Santa Barbara. With the tie, UCLA's record moves to 1-0-2 on the season, while UCSB goes to 1-1-1.

The Bruins had several scoring opportunities in the match, outshooting the Gauchos, 19-7 on the night. UCLA's best scoring opportunity came in the 14th minute of overtime, when midfielder Stacy Lindstrom nearly put in a short-range shot in the box. However, UCSB goalkeeper Jamie Considine was just able to get a finger on it and push it away. Considine finished with seven saves on the evening.

Bruin forward Iris Mora recorded a game-high five shots and was followed by Sarah-Gayle Swanson with four. UCSB's Krystal Sandza led the Gauchos with two shots.

UCLA returns to action this Friday to take on St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. That match will also be played at UCLA's Spaulding Field.
