On Saturday, October 9, members from departments across the UCLA campus gathered at the Rose Bowl for food, fun and Bruin football at the 7th Annual Faculty & Staff Tailgate Party. Please click here to review pictures of the event.
The afternoon began in Area H of the Rose Bowl with a catered buffet compliments of Mi Piace Italian Kitchen and Bakery (www.mipiaceitaliankitchen.com). DJ Darren Radeff got the crowd hopping with a lively musical selection and several guests jumped in to showcase their lip-synching abilities, much to the delight of the crowd. Attendees were challenged to "Name That Tune" and excitement swept the tent as contestants both young and old raced to the DJ booth to give their answers. Winners were rewarded with prizes of candy and sunglasses.
After the party, participants made their way into the Rose Bowl to top off an eventful afternoon with an exciting football game, featuring the UCLA Bruins and the Arizona Wildcats. They watched happily as the Bruins put on a dazzling display, defeating the Wildcats by a final score of 37-17.
UCLA Staff Assembly President Hassan Ghamlouch was very pleased with the day and offered the following comments, "This was my first Tailgate Party and I'm hooked!! What a fantastic day and an extraordinary show of 'Bruin Pride'. A HUGE thank you to the UCLA Athletic Department and Staff Assembly family for sponsoring the event. It's a new family tradition and my son wants to know (when is the next one?)."
Thank you to all the UCLA Staff and Faculty members who attended the event. The UCLA Athletic Department would also like to thank Mi Piace Italian Kitchen and Bakery, DJ Darren Radeff and the UCLA Staff Assembly for their help in making this event a huge success.
