
UCLA Sweeps UBC in Men's Volleyball

The UCLA men's volleyball team defeated the University of British Columbia 3-0 Wednesday in a preseason match in Pauley Pavilion.
The Bruins won 30-26, 30-22, 30-24 in 88 minutes before 339 fans.
Senior Paul Johnson led a balanced attack for the Bruins, slamming 10 kills (.769) and recording five block assists. Senior Kris Kraushaar followed with nine kills (.643) and sophomore Steve Klosterman also added nine kills (.313), two aces and three block assists.
In team statistics, the Bruins hit .494 to the Thunderbirds' .266. UCLA recorded six aces to UBC's two.
Andrew Bonner led UBC with 10 kills and Jeff Emslie added seven kills.
The Bruins will begin the 2005 regular season Jan. 7 & 8 at the UCSB Elephant Bar Classic, followed by a four-match home-stand starting on Jan. 12 vs. Cal Baptist.
