SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After losing to Stanford earlier in the day the UCLA women's water polo team rebounded to defeat No. 4 Long Beach State 9-7 to place third at the Gaucho Tournament. UCLA is now 7-2 (1-0) on the year and will have its home opener this weekend against California at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 6.

UCLA fell behind 2-3 after one period, but were able to rebound and outscore Long Beach State 3-1 in the second period to take the 5-4 lead. The teams would each score once in the third period and in the fourth UCLA would score three goals to Long Beach's two to earn the 9-7 victory.

Katherine Belden and Molly Cahill each scored three times for the Bruins with Kristina Kunkel adding two goals and Brittney Bowlus one.
