Thousand Oaks, Calif. - UCLA senior men's tennis player Luben Pampoulov defeated teammate Benjamin Kohlloeffel, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 Monday in the finals of the Sherwood Collegiate Cup.
Pampoulov, seeded fourth in the tournament, was down 4-1 in the third set before winning the next five games to claim the title. His victory gives UCLA its fourth singles champion in a row at Sherwood, as former Bruin Tobias Clemens had claimed the title the three previous years.
Kohlloeffel was the tournament's No. 2 seed.
UCLA kicks off the dual match season this Thursday, hosting Azusa Pacific at the LATC beginning at 1:30 p.m.
