Fourth-Ranked UCLA Shuts Out Stanford, 2-0

Los Angeles, CA - Late second-half goals from Danesha Adams and Christina DiMartino lifted fourth-ranked UCLA to a 2-0 victory over Stanford at Drake Stadium. Adams scored the game-winner in the 80th minute, and DiMartino added an insurance goal in the 84th minute to help the Bruins win their fifth consecutive game.

Adams broke the scoreless tie at 79:45 when she chipped a shot over Stanford goalkeeper Alex Gamble's head from about 25 yards out. The goal was her fifth of the season.

DiMartino created her goal at 83:57. After taking a pass from Lauren Cheney on the left side of the field, DiMartino juked two Stanford defenders and struck a hard shot into the upper right corner past Gamble for her third goal of the year.

Bruin goalkeeper Valerie Henderson recorded her fifth shutout of the season, making one save on eight Stanford shots. Gamble made two saves for the Cardinal. The Bruins outshot Stanford, 16-8.

UCLA's record improves to 11-2-0, 2-0-0 in the Pac-10 Conference. Stanford drops to 7-5-1, 0-1-1 in the Pac-10.
