Tucson, Ariz. - The No. 9 UCLA men's tennis team had little trouble with Arizona on Saturday, posting a 7-0 decision over the Wildcats in a Pac-10 Conference match at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. With the win, UCLA improves to 13-4 overall and 2-0 in the Pac-10. Arizona falls to 10-6 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
UCLA swept all three doubles matches, taking a 1-0 lead into singles play. The Bruins moved out to a 3-0 lead not long after, as Benjamin Kohlloeffel and Philipp Gruendler each dispatched of their opponents in straight sets. Sophomore Mathieu Dehaine clinched the match for UCLA at court No. 3, downing Bruno Alcala, 6-4, 6-4.
Haythem Abid, Chris Surapol and Michael Look capped off the 7-0 win for UCLA with victories on their respective courts.
UCLA returns home to face Stanford and Cal next week.
