OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The UCLA women's rowing varsity eight crew raced to a third-place finish out of 19 boats at the Head of the Oklahoma on Saturday, Oct. 13. That evening, UCLA finished second out of five crews in the Night Sprint, a 500-meter race.

In the first race, the Bruins posted a time of 15 minutes and 8.558 seconds, finishing less than four tenths of one second (0.389) behind second-place Stanford. Washington State led the way, clocking in at 15:03.554.

Rounding out the top five finishers were Washington State's "B" crew, and the University of Texas.

In the Night Sprint, UCLA posted a second-place time of 1:36.836. Washington State raced to a first-place finish, and Stanford, Washington State's "B" crew, Central Florida (tied) and Texas rounded out the top five.

The UCLA women's rowing team returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Head of the American in Rancho Cordova, Calif. The Bruins conclude their fall season at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival on Sunday, Nov. 4.
