As a part of UCLA's nine-month long celebration honoring the "First to 100", a student-athlete or coach from each of the 100 NCAA Championship teams will be honored at halftime of all home football and men's basketball games during the 2007-08 campaign. This Saturday, we have saved this recognition for five special championships: UCLA's first NCAA Championship, Coach John Wooden's first championship, Coach Al Scates' first championship, UCLA's first women's championship, and No. 100. Those guests will be:

#9 - 1964 Men's Basketball (Walt Hazzard)
#18 - 1970 Men's Volleyball (Ed Becker and Coach Al Scates)
#44 - 1982 Softball (Dot Richardson and Coach Sharron Backus)
#100 - 2007 Women's Water Polo (entire team)
Throughout the course of this celebration, there will be a few subtle changes to recognize this accomplishment. A few of those changes include the official "First to 100" logo being placed on the back of our football helmets, as well as the reverse color "C" in the north end zone at the Rose Bowl. The "C" is reversed because "C" is the Roman number for 100. As other sports get underway, you will notice that the "C" on our jerseys will also be reversed when the team uses block lettering on its uniform. Men's Basketball will likely be the most prominent example of that.
