Fourth-ranked UCLA fell in four games against top-ranked Pepperdine Thursday night in MPSF men's volleyball action.

Pepperdine won 28-30, 30-26, 30-25 30-21 in front of 1,303 spectators at Firestone Fieldhouse. The victory raised the Waves' overall record to 20-1, 16-1 in league play. The Bruins fell to 14-10, 9-9. Pepperdine has now won 17 straight matches in a streak that started on Jan. 24 with a five-game win at UCLA.

Senior Steve Klosterman led the Bruins with 22 kills (.349), followed by 13 kills from senior Paul George. Redshirt freshman Brett Perrine added 10 kills (.364). Libero Tony Ker led the Bruins with 11 digs and his brother Kevin added 56 set assists, two kills, a pair of aces and three total blocks for 6.0 points.

A trio of players led the Waves, who hit .379 for the match: Paul Carroll (18 kills, 21.5 points), Jon Grobe (15 kills, .519) and J.D. Schleppenbach (11 kills, .500).

The Bruins will continue their road swing this week with a conference showdown against USC on Sat., Mar. 31 at the Galen Center. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the match will be televised by FosSports on a delayed broadcast.
