BERKELEY, Calif. - Junior Krsto Sbutega scored three goals and senior Matt Kellogg made 10 saves to lead the No. 3 UCLA men's water polo team past Santa Clara, 15-4, on Saturday morning in the first round of the NorCal Tournament.
Sophomore Cole Consani added two goals for the Bruins, who will face No. 6 Pepperdine at 5 p.m. today at California's Spieker Center.
UCLA (5-0) jumped to a 4-1 lead after the first quarter doubled its margin to 8-2 at halftime. The Bruins outscored the Broncos, 4-2, in the third quarter and blanked Santa Clara, 3-0, in the final quarter.
In all, 12 Bruins scored at least one goal, as junior Kyle Healy registered his first goal at UCLA.
