UCLA's Kristina Comforte, Anna Li and Tasha Schwikert will compete for NCAA individual titles Saturday night. All three have qualified for the uneven bars finals. Comforte and Schwikert are also competing in vault finals, and Schwikert is UCLA's lone representative in floor finals. Competition begins at 6:00 pm ET at Stegeman Coliseum.

Vault

  • Junior Kristina Comforte is competing fourth, and senior Tasha Schwikert is fifth in the vault finals.
  • Comforte was the vault runner-up in 2006 as a freshman, scoring an average of 9.9 on a Yurchenko full (9.9625) and a layout Podkopayeva (9.8375).
  • Comforte has scored a perfect 10 in her career, on Feb. 3, 2006 at Cal State Fullerton. Her season-high is 9.925, set Jan. 4 in Las Vegas.
  • Schwikert was a first-team All-American on vault in 2005 but did not compete at the Event Finals on that event due to a cold. She was also a second-team All-American on vault in 2007.
  • Schwikert's career-high is 9.975, and her season-high is 9.95, set most recently at Thursday's prelims.

    Bars

  • Schwikert is eighth, Comforte 12th and sophomore Anna Li 16th out of 18 competitors in the finals.
  • This will be Schwikert's third bars final. She was the NCAA runner-up last year, scoring 9.9125 as the first competitor up. In 2005, she tied for third with a 9.8875.
  • Schwikert has scored two perfect 10s in her career, most recently at the 2005 Pac-10 Championships. Her season-high is 9.95, set at the Pac-10 Championships.
  • Comforte scored a season-high tying 9.9 to qualify for event finals. Her career-high is 9.95, set in 2006.
  • Li, who was a second-team All-American on bars last year, set a career-high on bars with a 9.975 at Cal on Feb. 17. At No. 2 in the nation, she is the highest-ranked gymnast competing in event finals on this event.
  • Li averaged 9.873, Schwikert 9.834 and Comforte 9.761 on the year.

    Floor

  • Schwikert will be the 10th of 14 competitors on floor.
  • She was a first-team All-American on floor in 2005 but did not compete on floor at Event Finals due to a cold.
  • Schwikert has scored two perfect 10s in her career, most recently on Mar. 6, 2005 vs. Florida. Her season-high is 9.975, achieved on Mar. 9 in her last career home meet.
  • She has averaged 9.893 on floor this season and 9.863 for her career.
  • Her tumbling passes are: half-in half-out, double full/punch front, double pike.

    UCLA Notes

  • With Tasha Schwikert's all-around title this weekend, UCLA has won either a team or individual title in 11 of the last 12 years.
  • Heading into the event finals, UCLA has 27 individual NCAA titles, second only to Georgia's 31.
  • Schwikert is the first UCLA gymnast ever to win multiple NCAA all-around titles and just the seventh in NCAA history. She is the only one of the seven to win it as a freshman and a senior. All of the other multiple winners won in back-to-back years.
  • Three Bruins earned eight All-America honors this year - Tasha Schwikert (1st-team All-Around, Vault, Bars, Floor), Kristina Comforte (1st-team Vault, Bars; 2nd-team Beam), and Anna Li (1st-team Bars).
  • Schwikert finishes her career with 12 All-America honors. Comforte and Li now each have five.
